Growth Impairment
Growth Impairments, as they are considered from a disability perspective, are much more common in children’s disability claims (when a claimant is 18 years of age or under). In fact, the first category listed under the “Listing of Impairments” for a minor child is a Growth Impairment.
Growth Impairments are related to the child’s chronological age and must be verified by appropriate medically acceptable imaging. Growth Impairments are often the least common cause for disability.
