How to Apply for SSD in Illinois

Applying for Social Security Disability

Applying for Social Security Disability (SSD) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) can often be confusing.

Drummond Disability’s lawyers are here to help you!

How to file for SSD claims in Illinois

Unlike Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Disability only applies to those who have a significant work history or are dependent of a wage earner, but you may qualify for both programs (just ask our SSI/SSD lawyers).

There are multiple ways to sign up for Social Security Disability:

  • Go to your local Social Security Administration office and sit down with an intake representative.
  • Call your local Social Security Administration office and complete an application over the telephone.
  • Visit the Social Security Administration website, www.ssa.gov, and complete an online application.
  • Call us, Drummond Disability at 1-800-842-0426, and let one of our staff members assist you in signing up for Social Security Disability (SSD) claim.

Unfortunately, applications for SSI cannot be performed online at the present time and can only be done in person or through a telephone interview with your local Social Security Administration office.

If you’d like to discuss whether or not you should apply for Social Security Disability (SSD) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or if you’ve been denied benefits at the initial level or the reconsideration level, do not hesitate to visit our website drummonddisability.com or give us a call at 800-842-0426. We can take it from there!!!
